We are excited to welcome Syndey Annas to our team at Connected Roots! With a diverse team of professionals, Sydney supports our commitment to enable anyone to find a qualified and compassionate therapist.
With a strong commitment to mental health counseling, Sydney helps people towards a healthy life using specialized strategies, a diverse skill set of therapeutic methods, and a holistic approach to self-discovery. Through mind-body connection, she helps people target stress and trauma caused by negative narratives. Using person-centered therapy, somatic therapy, and narrative therapy, Sydney guides her clients toward deep and lasting inner healing.
Sydney’s background includes a master's degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at Rollins College, where she gained expertise in crisis intervention, sexual trauma advocacy, and community outreach. She is passionate about helping those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, identity development, relationships, and trauma recovery.
Her understanding of these topics has formed her own mindful and multicultural perspective, including her ability to resonate with youths. Sydney has a specialized focus working with college students and those within the LGBTQ+ community. Sydney understands that fostering rich connections with her clients means embracing ways of staying grounded within herself. Her love of art, literature, and cooking enable her to tap into her creative side.
What Is Our Holistic Approach?
At Connected Roots, we believe that when people feel connected, grounded, and confident, they are on their way to healing. Our holistic approach focuses on the body, mind, and spirit to embrace your true self and find the healing you need.
Connection: People regularly feel disconnected from themselves because they don’t have the proper tools to identify their emotions. The more you understand what you are feeling and why, the more you will feel that connection. We provide tools that allow you to practice naming your feelings and searching for their underlying themes to foster that sense of self connection.
Grounding: Staying grounded is an essential practice to maintain inner healing. With constant distractions that pull us in every direction, it can feel very challenging to feel centered. Grounding allows us the intentionality we need to focus on the present. Multiple techniques, including mental and physical exercise are proven to cultivate mindfulness. As these techniques become a part of your daily rhythm, you will gain a more positive mindset focused on staying in the moment.
Confidence: As we grow in self-awareness and understanding our thoughts, we foster a deeper understanding of ourselves. Developing confidence in your abilities and voice is a significant part of our holistic approach toward healing. Uncovering your negative beliefs isn't easy, but the results are very rewarding. As you begin to understand and challenge the foundations of your self-beliefs, you will develop a stronger sense of confidence in yourself.
